Rachel's First Haircut

Well, we managed to get Rachel into a kids' haircutting place called "Castle Kidz Kutz" for her first haircut (second attempt) on Friday, Jan 15th. Our friends Lynn and Kyle told us about this place after they had a good experience there with their son Erich. The shop has toys and cool cars as their seats and the barbers have great experience bobbing and weaving along with the kids as they move. So, we thought we'd give it a try.



Rachel didn't get fussy until her hairdresser put the cape around her neck and started wetting her hair down. After that, she cried so much that no toy or snack could calm her down. But thanks to quick moves from the hairdresser, her haircut was complete about 3 minutes later! As soon as we hoisted her off of the chair, she was happy again, playing with the toys and laughing. Glad that there was no lasting emotional trauma! :)

Her hair looks much better now that it's shaped and even in the back. No more baby mullet! And we are happy now...at least until the time comes for the next haircut.
